Diablo V
Diablo 5 Glossary: Key Terms in English and German
Diablo V (Diablo 5) brings new names such as the Heir to Westmarch, the Dread Commanders and the Plague Knight, and the German versions do not always match word for word. Here are the key terms in English and German, each with a short explanation and a note wherever Blizzard has not given an official German name yet (as of October 19, 2026).
How this glossary works
The yardstick for the German names is Blizzard’s German article on the panel, “Diablo V: Der Weg in die nächste Ära.” Whatever appears there counts as official, for example Pestritter (Plague Knight), Schreckenskommandant (Dread Commander), Karawane (caravan) and Schwester des Verborgenen Auges (Sister of the Sightless Eye). Many terms, however, the team has only mentioned in the English panel or in interviews, such as the Terror Realm. For those, we use the obvious German translation and note that the official name is still pending.
Every term links to the page with the details. The plot background is on the story page, and the systems are covered under gameplay and items. When new names appear, we add them here with a date.
