Diablo 5 System Requirements: Will Diablo V Run on My PC?

Blizzard has not published system requirements for Diablo V (Diablo 5) yet (as of October 20, 2026). Because Diablo V is built on its own branch of the Diablo IV technology, Diablo IV’s official specs give a first idea – they are no promise for Diablo V.

What Diablo V is built on

Blizzard has not unveiled a new engine with its own name. According to the team, Diablo V has been running on its own branch of the Diablo IV technology for a while, which is being adapted for the new game. The big new piece is the procedural world: overworld and dungeons are generated and can change whenever you return. Who is behind the technology is covered under developers.

For your PC that means just one thing: Diablo IV is the obvious point of reference. How much more power Diablo V will need cannot be derived from it – there are still years until the spring 2029 release, in which graphics, world and optimization will keep changing.

What you can take from this

  • Treat Diablo IV as a floor: if Diablo IV only just runs on your PC, that is not a good sign for a sequel that launches years later.
  • SSD: Diablo IV requires an SSD. Whether the same applies to Diablo V has not been announced.
  • Storage: Diablo IV needs 90 GB. How big Diablo V will be is open.
  • Internet: Diablo IV needs a broadband connection. Blizzard has not said whether Diablo V can be played offline – more under multiplayer.

Until Blizzard publishes specs, it is not worth buying hardware just for Diablo V. According to Blizzard, the game launches in spring 2029.

How to check your PC

  1. Press Windows key + R, type dxdiag and press Enter.
  2. The System tab lists your processor, memory and DirectX version.
  3. The Display tab shows your graphics card and its video memory.
  4. Whether you have an SSD is shown in Disk Management or, on Windows 11, under Settings → System → Storage → Advanced storage settings → Disks & volumes.

Compare the values with the table above. As soon as there are official specs for Diablo V, they will replace the Diablo IV comparison here.

Steam Deck, consoles and handhelds

Whether Diablo V will run on the Steam Deck or other handheld PCs depends on two things Blizzard has not announced: the platforms and the system requirements. There is no Steam store listing. Consoles have not been announced either – our rumor check looks at what is circulating.
