Diablo 5 Price and Editions: Can You Pre-Order Yet?
Blizzard has not announced a price, editions or pre-orders for Diablo V (Diablo 5) – there is nowhere to pre-order the game officially (as of October 19, 2026). Whether Diablo 5 will be a one-time purchase or free to play is not known either.
What is known about buying it – and what is not

What is still open
When it announced the game in September 2026, Blizzard only named the spring 2029 window. There is no word on price, editions or the business model: whether Diablo V will be a one-time purchase like Diablo IV or take a different route is open. The same goes for an in-game shop, a battle pass or seasons after launch.
The only certainty is that Diablo V is a standalone new game. According to executive producer Matt Zitterman, the planned changes were simply too fundamental for an expansion. Blizzard has not said whether owning Diablo IV will matter when you buy it. How the two games differ is covered in our comparison with Diablo IV.

For comparison: how Blizzard sold Diablo IV
Diablo IV launched in June 2023 in three editions: Standard, Digital Deluxe and Ultimate. The two larger ones included up to four days of early access and battle pass content. Pre-order customers could join the early access beta in March 2023. Blizzard revealed the price and editions and opened pre-orders in December 2022, about half a year before launch.
After release, more revenue streams followed: a shop selling cosmetic items for the premium currency Platinum, a paid premium battle pass each season, and expansions such as Vessel of Hatred in October 2024. Diablo Immortal, by contrast, launched in 2022 as a free-to-play game. None of these models is confirmed for Diablo V.
Beware of pre-orders and keys
Until Blizzard opens pre-orders, there is no official way to buy Diablo V. Offers for “Diablo 5 keys,” pre-orders at key resellers or price lists with supposed editions are not based on anything Blizzard said. Money you pay before an official announcement is not tied to any offer from Blizzard.
You can tell a pre-order is genuine when Blizzard announces it itself – on news.blizzard.com and diablo5.blizzard.com. Then buy through the channels named in that announcement. Which systems Diablo V will launch on is still open too; see platforms for the latest.
When price and pre-orders might come
Blizzard has not given a timeframe. Regular developer updates are planned from 2027; whether they will include purchase details is open. Diablo IV offers only a rough reference point: there, about half a year passed between the start of pre-orders and release. For the latest on timing, see release date; for possible tests, see beta.
