“Diablo 5 is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S”
Rumor
Diablo V
Many reports about Diablo V (Diablo 5) go beyond what Blizzard has said: neither PS5 nor Xbox is confirmed, the game is set about 100 years after Diablo IV rather than several centuries, and there is no class count (as of October 19, 2026). Here we check 15 common claims.
We only count something as confirmed if Blizzard published it itself: the announcement, the panel, the official website and written statements. Developer statements from interviews count when they can be read or heard word for word in the original – summaries and headlines written by outlets do not. Everything else remains a rumor until Blizzard confirms it.
Every verdict names its source and applies as of October 19, 2026. If anything changes, we update it with a date. The confirmed facts in context are in our Diablo 5 overview.

Most false claims appear as stories get retold. Headlines overstate (“officially confirmed for PC”), translations turn about 100 years into centuries, and outlets do their own math on how many classes “more than ever before” might mean. Names suffer too: Joe Shely often becomes “Shelly,” and Jennifer Hepler “Helper.”
Then there is the mix-up with Diablo IV, which carries on alongside it: the season, the Amazon and the Switch 2 version all belong to the predecessor. The people behind the statements are on our developers page, the confirmed classes under classes, and the latest on timing under release date.
We only use official information from Blizzard and verbatim statements by the developers. Anything not announced is listed as open.
