The configuration
This setup is stored as a complete build — gear, skills, runes and all four cube slots work together and are not assembled from individual statistics.
- Set: Thorns of the Invoker
- Rating: tier B across all classes
- Kanai's Cube: Echoing Fury, Omnislash, Convention of Elements, Akarat's Awakening
- Skills: Slash (Electrify), Steed Charge (Draw and Quarter), Iron Skin (Charged Up), Bombardment (Barrels of Spikes), Laws of Valor (Unstoppable Force), Akarat's Champion (Prophet)
- Passives: Heavenly Strength, Iron Maiden, Finery, Hold Your Ground
- Variants available: GR push
What the set does
This build wears Thorns of the Invoker. These bonuses apply once the matching number of set pieces is equipped — the damage multiplier hangs on them, not on the individual stats of the pieces:
- 2 pieces: Your Thorns damage now hits all enemies in a 15 yard radius around you. Each time you hit an enemy with Punish, Slash, or block an attack your Thorns is increased by 90% for 2 seconds. This effect stacks up to 10 times.
- 4 pieces: You take 50% less damage for 20 seconds after damaging an enemy with Bombardment.
- 6 pieces: The attack speed of Punish and Slash are increased by 100% and deal 67,500% of your Thorns damage.
Sockets and gems
The 3 legendary gems (Bane of the Trapped, Bane of the Stricken, Boyarsky's Chip) belong in the jewellery slots — that is the only place their rank counts, and the only place they keep growing when you upgrade after a Greater Rift.
The remaining 7 sockets are filled with Diamond: the multiplier already comes from the set and the legendary powers, so one more base stat does more there than another effect would.
On the season theme
Shades of the Nephalem spawns a shadow clone of your class at every shrine and pylon that fights along for one minute. Activate shrines inside the pull, not on the way there. The fourth cube slot is already filled in every variant above.
