    How the build planner works

    1. Pick class and gender – Click a class at the top – the character window then shows the class background and the base attributes at level 70.
    2. Set skills and runes – A plate in the skill window opens all skills of the class; pick the rune by its rune stone on the right. The four passives sit below.
    3. Equip gear – In the Gear tab you pick a slot in the character window – empty slots open the picker right away, filled ones show the item next to the window: switch between normal, ancient and primal, mark the sanctified item, tick “Got it” and set the desired properties. Only items the class can wear there are offered.
    4. Check set bonuses – The sidebar counts the pieces of each set and only shows reached bonuses in green. The Ring of Royal Grandeur – worn or in the cube – lowers every requirement by one piece (minimum two).
    5. Cube, gems, paragon and follower – Three Kanai's Cube powers, three legendary gems with rank, paragon points in turn across the four categories and a follower who wears armor as well as weapon, relic and jewelry.
    6. Undo – “Undo” in the actions or Ctrl+Z takes back your last changes – up to 50 steps, even after “Reset”.
    7. Share the build – “Share link” stores everything in the address; “Copy as text” gives a list for forums or Discord. With an account you can publish it as a community build.

      Questions & answers

What can the Diablo 3 build planner do?
Pick a class, six skills with runes, four passives, gear for all 13 slots (normal, ancient or primal), three Kanai's Cube powers, three legendary gems, paragon points and your follower. On the right you see active set bonuses, every power and matching items.
Does the planner check my gear?
Yes: it only offers items the class can wear in that slot, locks the off-hand with two-handed weapons (except a bow with a quiver and a Crusader with Heavenly Strength) and reports duplicate powers.
Does the planner calculate damage or toughness?
No. It shows set bonuses, powers and paragon values but does not calculate damage or toughness.
How do I share my build?
Use “Share link”: the whole build is stored in the address. With a RaidDex account you can also publish it as a community build.
How does the planner count set bonuses with the Ring of Royal Grandeur?
The ring lowers the piece count of every set bonus of three or more pieces by one, never below two. The planner applies it whether the ring is worn or extracted into Kanai's Cube; bonuses not reached stay grey.
Which items can the follower wear?
Templar, Scoundrel and Enchantress wear a weapon, their relic, an amulet and two rings, plus armor on head, shoulders, chest, hands, bracers, belt, legs and feet; the Templar can also use a shield. Powers marked “Emanates” also affect the hero.
What changes with ancient and primal?
Ancient items roll their fixed properties from a higher range, primal items have every value at the top. In the planner you pick the version per slot; the character window and tooltip then show its frame.
