ArcheAge Chronicles: New servers, combat team and female Warrior in December

Key facts at a glance

  • In a letter dated October 29, 2026, XLGAMES executive producer Ham lays out what has been fixed since the Steam Next Fest demo ahead of Early Access.
  • Changes include new servers in Brazil and Singapore, automatic region selection, and parties that stay together across Peace and Conflict Channels.
  • Core combat feel (stamina, hit stun, movement speed) is deliberately not being rushed: a dedicated combat team will tune it throughout Early Access.
  • The first update in December adds the female Warrior and the Gladius as the Warrior's third weapon type.
  • Early Access opens more than 60 areas, roughly twenty times the demo, and begins November 3, 2026 at 3 PM PT.

Launch, connection and servers

XLGAMES says the most common technical problems from the demo have been addressed for launch. A shader compilation screen now replaces the black screen on first launch, several disconnects, login errors and antivirus-related launch failures are fixed, and multi-monitor support and fullscreen switching are improved.

Regions are now picked automatically based on location, and new servers are live in Brazil and Singapore. Parties stay together across Peace and Conflict Channels and can jump straight to the party leader's channel. Dungeon and instance progress survives a disconnect in every Early Access region, and some previously solo-only dungeon sections can now be played in a party.

Combat, balance and controls

The balance pass targets overperforming skills and a handful of weapons. Wall of Fire deals less damage, and bosses resist skills that scale with max HP more strongly. Wavesword attack power and growth scaling were rebalanced and the Longbow's Fire Arrow was reworked, with further tuning for the Warhammer, Hatchet, Elemental Staff lightning skills and the Berserker's Forceful Lunge. Fatal Strike triggers more reliably, and bosses no longer vanish behind walls or under the floor. Traits gain new stat nodes and four new Lunastones join the game.

On the controls side, 10 UI shortcuts can be rebound, camera Y-axis inversion has separate mouse and controller settings, ladders no longer drain SP, and glasses and masks can be hidden on helmets. There are also more character presets, Customer Support in the ESC menu and a language filter for Region and World chat.

What XLGAMES chose not to rush is the core feel of combat. Player opinions on stamina, hit stun, movement speed and hit impact varied widely, so a newly formed combat team will start from the Next Fest feedback and keep adjusting throughout Early Access. The same team is also looking at soft-lock targeting for ranged attacks and the party aggro system.

First update in December: female Warrior and Gladius

The first post-launch update tackles two of the most requested changes. Gender-locked classes have been the top piece of feedback since the September network test, and gender selection at character creation will arrive one class at a time. The Warrior goes first, with the female Warrior planned for the December update; more classes follow in later updates, and the goal is to remove gender locks from every class by full release.

Every class will also gain a third weapon type, again one class at a time. The December update gives the Warrior the Gladius, which XLGAMES says is further along than the gender work. The current lineup is covered on the weapon types page.

The Early Access world and roadmap

Early Access is roughly twenty times the size of the demo. It opens most of Diamond Shores, of which the demo showed only a small part, plus two new regions, Gylden Ruins and Astron Plains, for more than 60 areas with over a thousand exploration and collection points and their own stories, bosses and dungeons. Known locations so far are marked on the world map.

XLGAMES plans to share its post-launch roadmap soon after launch and shape it around player feedback; no date is given yet.
