  • Content: roughly two to three hours of quests, plus the high-level dungeon Throne of Hinnon with a hidden key and early access to the PvP channel.

Open to every region this time

The ArcheAge Chronicles demo will be playable worldwide, Executive Producer Ham of XLGAMES confirmed in a letter to the community on October 18, 2026. The September network test was limited to North America and felt too short, both common complaints. For Steam Next Fest, XLGAMES is running servers in North America (East and West), Central Europe, and East and South Asia.

The demo supports four languages: English, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. For all dates and basics, see our Steam Next Fest demo news.

What's in the demo

The demo offers roughly two to three hours of quest content, building on the network test with two additions:

  • Throne of Hinnon: a high-level dungeon outside the demo's normal quest progression. At the level you reach in the demo it may be extremely difficult, and the team has hidden its key somewhere hard to find. Whoever discovers it is invited to share it on Discord.
  • PvP channel: normally unlocked after the early part of the game, but in the demo you can enter once you leave the first town and reach the Nui Statue at your next destination.
ArcheAge Chronicles: a group battling a huge enemy inside a dark dungeon
Throne of Hinnon sits outside the regular quest path and is deliberately tough at demo level.

What changed since the network test

XLGAMES has already addressed several points of feedback, while others will keep evolving toward Early Access. Changes you should notice in the demo:

  • Voice-over and facial animation: missing from the network test, now fully implemented.
  • Audio: significantly improved, including fixes for repetitive combat sounds.
  • Party play: quest sharing, better logic for joining the same channel, and fixes for exploring points of interest together.
  • Navigation: clearer paths and clues in points of interest and dungeons, plus a guide explaining how hints are shown.
  • Other fixes: ladder collision, attack hit detection, missing translations and shimmering visual effects.
ArcheAge Chronicles: a ranger and companions fighting a large monster in the jungle
For groups, the demo adds quest sharing and makes it easier to end up in the same channel.

XLGAMES is also tackling gender-locked classes: additional gender options are now in development and will arrive gradually, starting with select classes, though not in time for the demo. All four classes and their weapons are in our class overview. Combat, balance and performance will keep improving on the way to Early Access.
