Kerry Eurodyne was usually considered Samurai's weakest link – his dramatic departures from the band (it's hard to say whether he left only twice, or if there were more incidents) were impossible to forget. As Nancy commented wryly in an interview on October 5, 2019: "He made sure of that." The general belief was that Kerry was simply using Samurai as a source of drama rather than a space for artistic expression. But when other members were asked who most wanted to play together, nearly all (with the exception of Silverhand, who almost never gave interviews) pointed to... Kerry Eurodyne. And if you think about it, it makes sense.
My last conversation with Henry stands as an interesting footnote to the history of Samurai, the band that was "never meant to be." Having tried to contact him for the last decade, of course I ran into him by complete accident. It took me nearly as much time to recognize the wreck of a man Henry had become as it took him to remember his own name. But when I asked him who quit the band most often, he answered without a moment's hesitation:
"Me, obviously. After every gig. I ran off and hid out in some squat. Told 'em all I'd had enough of this poser shit, but they never believed me. They thought I was just mega skezzed."
"Weren't you?"
"Sure, I was whacked outta my mind, but what's that got to do with it? Just made it easier for them. Denny gave me something, then they dragged my half-conscious ass out on that stage. Rinse and repeat."
