Entry

In Night City, every ride has its own charm, character and performance. Pick the one that suits your style, packs enough punch to be fun, and has handling characteristics that feel natural to you!

That said, vehicles that share the same engine placement and drive-wheel configuration will also share similar handling traits. There are three drive-wheel configurations: front, rear and all-wheel. Each has unique traction behavior under different circumstances. There are also three engine placements: front, mid and rear. This affects a vehicle's center of mass and thus its handling. Don’t know what a given ride has? Scan it! But if there’s any doubt, you can always pop the trunk or hood to see for yourself.

Front-Wheel Drive, Front Engine

These vehicles are typically the easiest to drive with good traction on slippery surfaces, and predictable understeer when pushed too hard. Engaging Burn Out mode mid-turn will produce a milder slide than with other configurations.

Rear-Wheel Drive, Front Engine

A classic combination for luxury, sport and muscle cars, designed for drivers with above-average skill. This configuration provides near-even weight balance with the engine at the front and passengers and drive axle towards the rear. Handling is generally neutral, producing only mild oversteer, but heavy gas mid corner can kick the rear out, allowing for drifting and quick changes of direction.

All-Wheel Drive, Front Engine

An excellent choice for medium-skill drivers who like to move fast whether in the city or off road. Considered the most stable configuration, you can brake or accelerate in the middle of a turn much more than in others, allowing for both beautiful slides as well as incredible traction and speed when exiting corners.

Rear-Wheel Drive, Mid or Rear Engine

A configuration for only the most skilled gearheads. With most of the weight behind the driver, these vehicles can understeer under acceleration when turning, and can spin if you Accelerate or Brake too suddenly mid corner. To keep these vehicles in one piece, it requires slow and smooth inputs. But if you’ve got the skill, they can provide a unique and rewarding thrill ride… if you like livin’ on the edge.

All-Wheel Drive, Mid or Rear Engine

This combination gives the feel of a RWD mid engine, but with the traction of AWD, and is favored by powerful, high-end exotics. Driven gingerly, they benefit from stable handling with mild understeer, but they can put down power like no other configuration and change direction easily. If you notice too much understeer, just feed it more gas. Put the pedal to the metal coming out of a corner, and they’ll have you flyin’ down the road like a bat outta hell!
