Secured crash site from the southeast. Total time to secure affected quadrant: [1] h [12] m
No security vulnerabilities found.
Interventions during site stabilization: [17]
Comment: Interventions were required during civilian attempts to reach the crash site, citing "concern for loved ones" or "willingness to help". In instances of aggressive civiliian interference, use of force was permitted. Among documented interventions, 2 fatalities (civilian) and 5 injuries (BARGHEST) were reported.
Personnel assigned to secure site: [22]
Casualties: [18]
Comment: Efforts to secure the site were largely disorganized, resulting in significant casualties. Given that the plane's security measures were largely well anticipated, I find these losses unacceptable. These were good soldiers and better people. This failure could have been avoided with more effective communication. Even "grunts" should have full access to basic operational information. Otherwise they're fighting - and dying - in the dark.
In light of these circumstances, I cannot accept my recent promotion to sergeant. As the most senior, I'd like Johanna Smiles to take my place.
