The pressure is building. The media is buzzing. That Skoczynski woman won't stop sniffing around until she finds the stink. The top brass is pressing me to speed up my investigation, thinking only of preventing a PR crisis. Imbeciles. Increasing the freqency of attacks means increased recklessness, which means more gimpses into their operation. This process takes TIME.
I must protect Milko. Leadership will want his head on a pike ASAP, but to what end? The Voodoo Boys are a hydra. It's not enough to cut off one head - you must find the source from which they feed. Remove that, you starve them all. It's the only way. And only I can do it. I WILL do it. I only need to observe a handful more attacks. Maybe 5? 10? Sometimes sacrifices must be made.
