Are we facing the return of cube living? Undoubtedly, cube living was a architectural abomination, but for many in the 20s and 30s it was their only hope. Mass produced, mobile housing modules measuring 600 cubic feet with furniture, appliances and amenities extendable from the wall for all one's basic needs. The cubes were so tight that if one pulled out all the equipment at the same time, there was no space for to move. But still, they were cheap, easy to manufacture, and later even 3D-printed to satisfy a surge in popular demand. Today, in the age of overcrowded megabuildings and social stratification, could cube living have a place again? Some manufacturers have already sent surveys to housing developers to gauge market interest. Looks like it's time to go on that diet you've been putting off.
