How we were wrong… The Net only fortified our chains. The corps have invaded our heads, our minds. They surround us with lifeless spies: our toasters, doorbells, our children's toys – all of it to observe and record us. Each minute fact of our lives documented and analyzed by powerful AI. Personal privacy is extinct. Like fish in an aquarium, we have nowhere to flee and nowhere to hide.
I believed the Net could be fixed. We'd recover the links, seize control of the fiber optics. But it was all one naive pipe dream. The Net must fall. It must burn until only ashes remain. That is our final hope.
