To those who have joined NC Prison since the incident, you have inherited a very different correctional institution than the one that existed just a few weeks ago. I want to make crystal clear the reasons for these recent changes and the desired result, so y’all can do your jobs to the best of your abilities.
As many of you know, a civilian BD tech unlawfully modified rehabilitation scenarios, exposing them to idyllic, emotionally positive, false realities. The result was 13 inmate suicides.
Those suicides triggered a riot. Yes, THE riot.
Dozens of correctional officers and staff lost their lives in a matter of hours. Dozens more were injured. Entire wings of the prison were rendered inoperable for days. For those of us who lived through it, we know how quickly order can turn to chaos.
I have instituted reforms across the prison to prevent this in the future:
- [Reaper Chip Initiative] providing prison staff with an immediate lethal-force option to contain unruly inmates.
- [MaxTac] strike teams now remain on standby to respond to large-scale disturbances and cyberpsycho events inside the facility.
- [Maximum Security Reconstruction] cell blocks have been redesigned with additional airlocks, security checkpoints, and blast doors as containment redundancies.
- [Braindance Upgrades] to revolutionize rehabilitation efforts, increasing treatment frequency and intensity. Rehabilitation is achieved through eliciting genuine remorse, not coddling or false hope.
Keep these improvements and the catastrophes that warranted them in mind as you fulfill your duties.
