Dear Mr. Kaspar,
Thank you very much for your response with regard to my collection of automotive essays. I am sorry my humble attempts were not to your taste. However, this time, I think I've got something more to your liking: enclosed, you'll find an excerpt of my autobiography "Restroom: Next Exit." Please let me know if you find it fit for publication.
Sincerely,
Marty Jenklow

RE: Another Submission
Dear Mr. Jenklow,
Thank you very much for your manuscript. Our editors have considered your text, and although "Restroom: Next Exit" is an example of bold and lively prose, we have unfortunately decided not to include it in our publication plan at this time. We wish you every success and encourage you to continue writing.
Sincerely,

RE: Another Submission
Dear Mr. Kaspar,
Well, at this rate I could paper my office wall with all the rejection slips you've sent me! But to follow your – I hope – sincere advice, I will not sheathe my pen just yet! So, if "Restroom: Next Exit" doesn't interest you, then perhaps my other manuscript, "Octane Rating," will. "Octane Rating" is a collection of short stories centered around the customers of an old, nearly forgotten gas station out in the middle of nowhere. Of course, the work is entirely fiction and any relation to real people or places is purely coincidental. If you are interested, I would be happy to send along a copy.
Best regards,
Marty
