Tommie Walker

When Tommie sat in his room filled with posters of famous athletes, he was just another kid living in a west coast slum. When he got into the Center for Neuromotor Development in Dogtown, he was convinced he'd finally made it big.

Within a day, dreams of a sports career turned into an achievable goal. And so began the daily examinations, painful trials, surgeries and buckets of sweat poured into training. Tommie felt special. Important. But he wasn't the only child at Fiona Vargas's center, and it soon became apparent there were more talented kids than him. Tommie saw the peak, only he'd never reach the top.
